Cyprus Lemon Pyramid Salt

Cyprus Lemon Pyramid Salt is a distinctive aromatic sea salt that combines the striking, delicate texture of salt flakes with the refreshing character of lemon. The fragile pyramid-shaped flakes break easily between your fingers and provide a pleasant crunch when used to finish a dish. Its soft yellowish hue and lemony character make it especially well suited to fish, seafood, salads, and Mediterranean recipes.

The salt we use

We use Cypriot salt in delicate pyramid-shaped flakes, flavored with lemon. Its structure is very different from that of ordinary fine or coarse salt: the flakes are delicate, light, and fragile, with irregular pieces formed as the characteristic pyramids break during packaging and transport. This is not a defect but a natural characteristic of this particular form of salt.

Origin and identity

Cyprus has a long-standing connection with sea salt and Mediterranean cuisine. Pyramid salts have become especially popular in modern cooking thanks to their striking crystalline structure and use as a finishing salt. In this version, the lemon character complements the natural saltiness, creating a product that can be used both to add flavor and to finish a dish.

Aroma, color, and flavor

The flakes range in color from off-white to pale yellow. Their aroma evokes lemon without completely masking the salt's sea-salt character. The flavor combines clean saltiness with a refreshing citrus note. Because the flakes are delicate, they break easily in the mouth and offer a different experience from the solid grains of coarse salt.

How to use

It is used primarily as a finishing salt. Gently crush a few flakes between your fingers over the food just before serving. It is an excellent choice for grilled or fried fish, shrimp, squid, and other seafood, as lemon is a natural flavor pairing for them. It can also be used on salads, roasted vegetables, potatoes, and white meats. For a different texture, see Greek Natural Pyramid Salt, while for a more striking visual effect, try Greek Black Pyramid Salt.

Pairings

Its lemony profile pairs especially well with olive oil, oregano, thyme, pepper, and fresh herbs. Try it on grilled sea bass or gilthead bream, shrimp, octopus, zucchini, asparagus, green salads, or roasted potatoes. A small amount can also add an interesting contrast to tomato, avocado, or fresh cheeses. For a different premium finishing salt option, see Portuguese Fleur de Sel.

Natural appearance

The product consists of whole and broken delicate flakes of varying sizes. The larger ones may retain part of their pyramid shape, while the smaller ones appear as fine, irregular pieces. The color may vary slightly and naturally from off-white to pale lemon.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and strong odors. After opening, keep the package tightly sealed. Since the pyramids are fragile, avoid applying strong pressure or shaking the package if you want to preserve as many large flakes as possible.

Precautions

Like all salts, this product is a source of sodium and should be consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. People following a sodium-restricted diet or who have received specific medical instructions should follow the recommendations of their doctor or healthcare professional.
