Selim pepper (also known as Guinea pepper or Selim pepper) is one of the most distinctive and traditional spices of West and East Africa. It comes from the dried fruits of the Xylopia aethiopica plant, an evergreen tree that grows in tropical regions. With an intense, pungent, and smoky character, Selim pepper is a staple in African cuisine and offers a unique flavor experience that stands out from any other pepper.

The spice we use

Whole dried Xylopia aethiopica pods, naturally harvested and dried. Raw, without additives, with an authentic African character. They can be used whole or crushed, depending on the desired intensity.

Botanical identity
