Decorative Indonesian Cinnamon 70 cm is a striking natural decorative material made from long, woody cinnamon pieces, with warm brown tones and the characteristic rustic look of dried bark. At approximately 70 cm long, it is quite different from the usual cinnamon sticks used in the kitchen: it is intended primarily for arrangements, shop displays, floristry, photo styling, and seasonal decoration.

What is decorative cinnamon?

Cinnamon comes from the bark of trees in the genus Cinnamomum. As the bark dries, it develops its familiar brown appearance and woody texture. In this particular form, its defining feature is its exceptionally long length, rather than its use as a regular spice. This makes it a distinctive material for natural and handmade decorations.

Origin and appearance

Its origin in Indonesia is linked to one of the world's most important cinnamon-producing regions. Natural bark pieces are not industrially uniform: they vary in diameter, curvature, edges, texture, and shades of brown. These variations are part of their natural appearance and are especially useful when creating an organic, rustic look.

Decorating spaces

The long pieces can be placed in tall glass or ceramic vases, on their own or together with dried branches, pampas grass, eucalyptus, dried flowers, and other natural elements. Their height creates a vertical line in an arrangement and can easily fill a corner, an entrance, a counter, or a shop display without requiring many different materials.

Christmas and autumn arrangements

Cinnamon's warm brown color pairs especially well with pine cones, dried orange slices, burlap, wood, fir branches, and earthy tones. It can be used in wreaths, table arrangements, large festive decorations, or shop window displays. For smaller crafts, it can be cut to the desired length with a suitable tool, bearing in mind that the dry bark may break or split.

Professional use and visual merchandising

In grocery stores, cafés, delicatessens, hotels, or dining spaces, it can serve as a natural display element, especially in concepts centered around spices, hot drinks, or an earthy aesthetic. It is also suitable as a prop for product photography, food styling, or themed sets that call for an instantly recognizable natural material.

Handmade crafts

It can be tied into bundles with twine, ribbon, burlap, or floral wire, and combined with other dried elements. Thanks to its length, it can be used as the central feature of an arrangement and cut into several smaller pieces depending on the project. If used in a hanging decoration, it should be secured firmly, as this natural material is not perfectly uniform in shape.

For smaller aromatic or decorative uses, you can also see Cinnamon Blossoms.

Handling

The dried bark is hard but can break if bent sharply or subjected to strong pressure. Move the long pieces by holding them at more than one point, and avoid forcing them into containers with a smaller diameter. The edges may be irregular, as is naturally the case with non-standardized plant material.

Storage

Store in a dry place, away from moisture, direct sunlight, and heat sources. For long-term storage, it is best to keep it protected from dust and strong odors. Do not place it where it may get wet or be exposed to constant humidity, as the natural dried bark may deteriorate.

Important note

This product is presented as decorative cinnamon. Use it according to the instructions on the packaging and not as a substitute for culinary cinnamon when it is intended exclusively for decorative use.
