Dried celery
Dried celery is one of the most prized spices in Mediterranean and Eastern cuisine. Dried celery leaves and stems in light pieces — ready to be added directly to soups, broths, stews, and sauces. It retains the strong aroma and flavor of fresh celery in a concentrated form, adding instant flavor to dishes without the preparation of fresh celery.
The material we use
We use high-quality dried celery leaves and stems, processed into light pieces of about 1-3 mm, raw, without additives or colorings. The color is yellowish-green to brownish, indicative of natural drying.
Botanical identity
Celery (Apium graveolens, fam. Apiaceae) is a biennial or annual plant cultivated worldwide. It has been used as a herb since ancient times — by the Ancient Greeks and Romans for its aromatic properties. In ancient Greece, it was a symbol of sadness and wreaths were used in the Isthmian Games. Today it is an essential ingredient in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine.
