Dried Goji Berries
Dried goji berries are one of the most well-known superfoods in Asian gastronomy and medicine. They have been used in Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years. The small, elliptical fruits with their impressive bright reddish-orange color and bittersweet taste are particularly recognizable and can be immediately distinguished from other dried fruits.
The fruit we use
We use high-quality, raw dried goji berries, without additives or colorings. The color is an impressive bright reddish-orange, with a calming glossy texture. They are slightly spherical, medium-sized, with the internal texture appearing moist and soft.
Botanical identity
Goji berries come from the bushy plant Lycium barbarum or Lycium chinense (fam. Solanaceae), also known as Chinese boxthorn or gou qi zi. It is mainly cultivated in China, Mongolia, and Central Asia. In Chinese medicine, they are referred to as a tonic plant, strengthening for the eyes, liver, and for general bodily toning.
