Carolina Reaper powder
Deep ruby-red powder with deceptively fruity notes and an extreme heat. Carolina Reaper powder is the most concentrated form of the world's hottest chili pepper — over 2,000,000 Scoville units in the smallest applicable size.
The spice we use
Dried and ground Carolina Reaper fruit into a fine powder. The ground form fully retains capsaicin and is easy to dose and mix into preparations.
Botanical Identity
The Carolina Reaper (Capsicum chinense) was created by Ed Curlin in South Carolina, USA, by crossing a Pakistani Naga and a Red Habanero. It was certified by Guinness World Records in 2013 with an average heat of 1,641,183 SHU.
Aroma, color and taste
Fruity aroma, with notes of cherry and tropical fruits that hide one of the world's most explosive heats. Deep ruby-red color. The heat comes with a delay but lasts 20-30 minutes.
How to use
Exclusively in minimal quantities — a pinch is enough for a large pot. Ideal for home-made hot sauce, oil infusions, extremely hot rubs, and chili sauces.
Combinations
With honey, mango, or pineapple, it creates sauces that balance extreme heat with natural sweetness. The quantity is always measured in drops.
Physical appearance
Fine powder in a deep ruby-red color. Instantly colors anything it touches. Uniform texture, powerful from drops to spoonfuls.
Storage
In a sealed container, away from light, humidity, and heat. Maintains its heat for many months.
Precautions
Extremely high capsaicin content. Strictly avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and wounds — use gloves. Not recommended for children, pregnant women, or individuals with gastrointestinal diseases or heart problems.
