Petalos Spain Flake Salt
Spain's Petalos salt is one of the most exquisite fleur de sel from the Iberian Peninsula — delicate, calcareous salt flakes that form on the surface of the sea and are collected by hand. The result is a salt unlike any other — light on the palate, with a distinct texture and a marine aftertaste that highlights its origin.
The salt we use
We use delicate, calcareous salt flakes without bleaching, processing, or chemical additives. Their structure is pyramidal and transparent — you can discover it with light from the other side. White-silver color with slightly iridescent hues.
Geographical identity
Petalos is produced from salt pans on the Iberian Peninsula, a region with a long tradition of salt production. It is hand-collected under specific weather conditions by veteran salt farmers.
Aroma, color, and taste
Clean and salty taste with a slight marine aftertaste due to its rich natural composition. Its intensity is lighter than common salt, making the flake ideal for finishing. White color with slightly iridescent hues.
How to use
Exclusively as a finishing salt directly on the finished dish. Excellent on grilled fish, meats, and seafood. Do not cook with it as the flakes lose their texture with heat. If you like fine salts, also check out Kalahari Desert Salt Coarse for a completely different taste experience.
Pairings
Pairs perfectly with grilled fish, beef carpaccio, and salads. Also excellent on avocado toast with olive oil, artisanal cheeses, and salads with corn fruits where the flake adds visual appeal and flavor complexity.
Natural appearance
Delicate, calcareous, transparent flakes with a white-silver color. Each grain is a small work of art from the sea — no two are alike.
Storage
In an airtight container or salt shaker, away from moisture. Remains undisturbed for years.
Precautions
Contains natural trace elements of sodium. Individuals with hypertension should use it in moderation.
