Halite salt crystals 2-5 cm
Halit (Halite) salt crystals are one of the purest forms of natural salt in the world. These are large, geometric crystals measuring 2–5 cm, with a natural luster and a completely raw character. They have remained intact for over 200 million years, trapped in the depths of the earth — isolated from all forms of pollution and human intervention.
The salt we use
Halite is the natural mineral form of sodium chloride (NaCl), with a purity of over 99%. It undergoes no chemical processing or the addition of anti-caking agents. The 2–5 cm crystals are large, robust, and ideal for use in a grinder — their structure withstands friction and releases a pure, mild saltiness.
Geological identity
Halite formed from the evaporation of ancient seas that became trapped by tectonic activity over 200 million years ago. It is found in deep salt mines in Europe (Poland, Romania, Austria) and the Middle East (Turkey). Its exceptional purity is due to its complete isolation from external pollutants and modern environmental elements.
Aroma, color, and taste
-
Color: transparent to slightly white, with a natural crystalline luster.
-
Texture: compact, clear, with visible internal structure.
-
Taste: pure, mild, slightly sweet — without a metallic aftertaste or bitter elements. It releases its saltiness slowly and controllably, offering precision to the final dish.
How to use
-
Ground in a grinder for a pure, raw finishing saltiness.
-
Whole in sauces and broths, where it melts gradually and salts slowly.
-
In marinades with olive oil and herbs for meats and fish.
-
For decorative use on the table or in salt baths. For natural salts with a special character, see also Tar Granule Desert Salt.
Combinations

-
With broths and sauces where it melts slowly and steadily.
-
With olive oil and herbs for aromatic marinades.
-
With vegetables and salads as a finishing salt.
Natural appearance
Large, transparent to white crystals, often in a geometric cubic shape. Natural luster, clear crystalline structure, and unique optical clarity. Each crystal is unique.
Storage
In a cool, dark place, in an airtight container. Away from moisture and direct sunlight. Remains undisturbed for many years.
Precautions
Contains no known allergens. Like all salts, excessive sodium intake can affect blood pressure — use in moderation.
