Crushed Habanero Red Savina chili
Deep red-orange flakes with visible seeds and an aroma that, beneath fruity notes, hides a heat reaching 500,000 Scoville units. The Red Savina was, for years, the hottest chili in the world according to Guinness — an excellent Habanero variety with a particularly rich character.
The chili we use
Dried and crushed Red Savina Habanero fruit. In this form, flakes of flesh, skin, and visible seeds coexist — all contributing to the intensity and complexity of the flavor.
Botanical identity
Red Savina (Capsicum chinense) is a selected Habanero variety developed by Frank Garcia in California. It held the Guinness record from 1994 to 2006, when it was surpassed by the Bhut Jolokia. It is mainly used in Mexican and Caribbean cuisine.
Aroma, color and taste
Fruity, rich aroma with notes of peach and tropical fruits. Deep red-orange color with visible light-colored seeds. High to extremely high heat (200,000-500,000 Scoville) with impressive duration — not for beginners.
How to use it
In hot sauces, salsas, marinades for meat and fish, spicy breads and rubs. The crushing method makes it easy to measure and mix uniformly into preparations. It can also be used in oil infusions and in homemade chili sauces.
Combinations
Pairs excellently with mango, pineapple, melon, and garlic in tropical hot sauces. With honey or agave, it creates sweet and sour-spicy sauces. Always requires caution with the quantity and gradual use.
Natural appearance
Deep red-orange flakes with visible scattered light-colored seeds. Irregular piece shape, dry texture, minimal dust.
Storage
In a sealed container, away from light, moisture, and heat. Retains its heat and aroma for several months under proper conditions. Avoid exposure to moisture.
Precautions
Extremely high capsaicin content. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes — use gloves when handling. Not recommended for children, pregnant women, or individuals with gastrointestinal conditions.
